Assalamu’alaikum. Hope everyone is in pink of health. It is already September. SubhanAllah. September holidays are here! It has been refreshing to be able to once again roam around without masks on. To see kids play freely without having to keep pulling down their masks.

Even though it has been announced that we can go out to public without masks on, have you ever had that guilty feeling of not wearing it? In your mind, it is like others are judging your level of responsibility as a person.

As much as we do not want to care of other people’s opinions, we do. It is second nature to us. Just like how we take into consideration the methods on how to raise our children.

“Do not pick up the child straight after he cries.”

“Drink plenty of mineral water is good. The earlier the better.”

“Force your child to stay awake throughout the day and he/she will sleep throughout the night”

Sounds familiar doesn’t it? No matter which way we choose to raise our children, we will receive advise and opinions from not just the older generations but from those of the same age range as well. We can take them as guidelines and we will have to weigh them ourselves. We have to constantly remind ourselves that every child is different, one size does not fit all.

The best parenting guideline is the sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . We have to continuously seek knowledge for us to have better judgement and teachers for our young ones.

May Allah always open our hearts to seek knowledge and accept opinions of others to further improve ourselves.

اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً، وَرِزْقاً طَيِّباً، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

Allahumma Innii Asaluka ‘Ilman Nafi’aan Wa Rizqan Tayyiban Wa ‘Amalan Mutaqobbalaan
Ya Allah! Sesungguhnya aku memohon kepada-Mu ilmu yang bermanfaat, rezeki yang baik dan amalan yang diterima.
