When it comes to parenting, there is no such thing as ‘one answer fits all’. Trust your instincts. What was done during our parents’ generation is different from our generation. Do the best you can and never give up. Everybody goes through tough times, nobody immediately adapts to parenthood.

وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward (8:28 )

This life is but a trial. We will be rewarded immensely in the hereafter for our efforts, in shaa Allah.

It will be the greatest and most rewarding  journey in our life! With بسم الله let us give our best for our children and put our faith entirely in Allah.
